The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Laboratory Safety Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Leading the laboratory safety program for the Abrasives Systems Division (ASD) Lab as the primary on-site safety professional, partnering closely with site and corporate safety resources. Executing Management of Change (MOC), risk assessments, and safety reviews for lab-scale and manufacturing-scale equipment including coating lines, automated machinery, and industrial robots. Reviewing, approving, and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs), while coaching engineers and technicians in effective, compliant document development. Driving proactive safety communication through campaigns, training, and routine engagement to reinforce safe behaviors and hazard awareness. Supporting incident response, investigations, and corrective action implementation to reduce risk and strengthen laboratory safety performance. Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties. Safety is a core value at 3M.
