About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Laboratory Research Associate is supporting all lab functions of research projects for multiple hospital departments within the clinical setting. The Laboratory Research Associate will assist in carrying out multiple clinical studies concurrently.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemistry, Biology or related fields
Detail oriented with strong written and oral communication skills
Strong computer skills beyond basic familiarity with the most common hardware and software systems.
Strong experience with excel or other organizational software preferred.
Ability to assist staff working on multiple projects: and organize and prioritize work effectively in order to meet deadlines
Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience required
Baccalaureate degree or equivalent required (CLIA '88 regulations)

Nice To Haves

Experience working with pediatric populations
Previous research experience preferred
Preferred certification within one year of hire for Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science and Medical Laboratory Scientists

Responsibilities

Participate in sample collection and data collection, shipment preparation, completion, and reporting of routine to moderately complex clinical studies in accordance with Standard operating Procedures and Good Clinical Practices
Expertise in basic clinical laboratory skills including the use of calibrated pipettes, laboratory centrifuges and temperature monitors
Aliquot and process samples for clinical research studies. Samples may include blood, sputum, stool, urine, throat swabs, wound swabs, urogenital and body fluids
Study specific data entry in to appropriate electronic systems
Document and account for all incoming samples and materials
Transport materials and samples to and from collection sites to lab
Ensure proper communication and compliance with internal and external parties
Other applicable duties as assigned
