Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the Director and department lead, to enter and admit patients into the hospital and laboratory computers and order appropriate tests.
- Respond to questions and requests from lab customers; answer telephones and direct calls as needed.
- Retrieve specimen, maintain files, specimen blocks and slides as needed.
- Logs all specimens into the computer prior to testing.
- Performs waived testing and phlebotomy.
- Collect or monitor the collection of specimens for certain special testing, and maintain files relevant to referral service testing and hospital laboratory.
- Greet patients, visitors, and customers in a professional, courteous manner.
