This is a part-time position located in Lima, OH, with working hours from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Benefits are not eligible for this role.

Requirements

  • Ability to prepare specimens through proper handling protocols.
  • Proficiency in identifying patients, labeling, recording test tubes, logging procedures, and entering specimen data.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle administrative duties for specimen processing.
  • Skill in preparing specimens for transportation and matching blood specimens to patients.
  • Understanding of laboratory requisitioning for billing.
  • Ability to maintain a clean work area and adequate supplies.
  • Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and laboratory safety practices.
  • Proficiency in using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines.
  • Ability to answer phones.
  • Ability to give results to Physician offices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares specimens through proper handling protocols to ensure viable specimens and accurate clinical results.
  • Utilizes standard procedures to identify the patient, label, record all test tubes, log procedures, and enter specimen data into the computer system.
  • Responds quickly, courteously, and professionally toward clients and co-workers to provide exceptional customer service and adhere to the Company’s values and business practices.
  • Handles administrative duties to receive, identify, accession, and process specimens using established protocols to facilitate timely and accurate test performance.
  • Prepares specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to patients.
  • Understands laboratory requisitioning for appropriate billing documentation.
  • Keeps work area clean and maintains adequate laboratory supplies.
  • Maintains compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and laboratory safety practices.
  • Utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows all safety and standard protection guidelines.
  • Answers phones.
  • Gives results to Physician offices.
