This is a temporary position where the Laboratory Processor will be responsible for collecting, labeling, logging, and processing blood and other specimens. The role involves checking the quality of samples, assembling supplies and equipment, and monitoring lab incubator/refrigerator temperatures. Additionally, the processor will prepare specimens for referral to outside laboratories and order all appropriate tests in the LIS system. Key responsibilities include ensuring correct tubes and specimen containers are used and labeled properly, adhering to CAP, UMPA, and GLP guidelines, determining specimen acceptability, and spinning, separating, storing, and distributing specimens. The role also requires preparing specimens for reference labs and following specific guidelines for various laboratory studies.
