Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for a Laboratory Operations Assistant to join our team at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York in Mount Kisco, New York. Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (start time may vary depending on how busy the lab is), with weekends and holidays only if needed Compensation: From $21.15 to $23.35 per hour (commensurate with experience) This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Ability to move heavy objects (up to 30 lbs.)
  • Comfortable handling sensitive biological specimens and materials, following proper safety procedures
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety protocols
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations; position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, database, and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) platforms
  • Self-starter that adapts well to change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Enter, update and manage patient information within the EMR system
  • Prepare, organize and review patient charts, including billing submissions
  • Request and maintain complete patient documentation including, but not limited to, FDA status forms, transfer in/out documentation, and related records
  • Perform inventory management including restocking laboratory supplies, tracking inventory and stock levels, supporting ordering, coordinating with vendors and suppliers, unpacking and logging deliveries into the inventory system
  • Assist with aliquoting procedures as needed
  • Perform routine lab cleaning, lab and equipment maintenance tasks and QC procedures
  • Safely handle liquid nitrogen (LN2) in andrology, endocrinology, and embryology laboratories in accordance with established protocols
  • Participate in witnessing laboratory procedures for accuracy, compliance and adherence to regulatory standards
  • Coordinate specimen transfers and deliveries with disposition team members
  • Prepare specimen discard packets
  • Assist the embryology and andrology/endocrinology teams, and laboratory technicians as needed
  • Ensure all appropriate protocols and equipment are followed and used when performing OSHA Category I or II related tasks
  • Liaise with IT support as needed
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
