About The Position

Purcell Municipal Hospital is in need of a full-time Laboratory Manager. Position manages daily operation of the Lab to maintain compliance with all federal, state, and government regulations/laws and accreditation agencies. Responsible for hiring, training and staff adherence to stated goals, policies, standards, quality control, quality assurance and procedures. Performs phlebotomy and laboratory analysis of samples/specimens. Knowledge of the principles and practices of microbiology, biology, hematology, urinalysis, and chemistry. Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing the clinical lab and safety programs, and national and state laboratory trends and issues. Ability to provide leadership, professional/technical direction, training and supervision to professional and technical staff. Ability to effectively comprehend, interpret, and apply federal and state regulations to program development and implementation activities and actions. Full understanding of laboratory practices/procedures and their implementation.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of microbiology, biology, hematology, urinalysis, and chemistry.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing the clinical lab and safety programs, and national and state laboratory trends and issues.
  • Ability to provide leadership, professional/technical direction, training and supervision to professional and technical staff.
  • Ability to effectively comprehend, interpret, and apply federal and state regulations to program development and implementation activities and actions.
  • Full understanding of laboratory practices/procedures and their implementation.
  • Medical Technologist with ASCP or AMT Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer candidates have minimum 5 years Laboratory experience and 2 years management experience.
