About The Position

Laboratory Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and overseeing all laboratory activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 5+ years of laboratory experience is preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Possible travel to additional labs in other areas.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
  • Analytical thinking skills.
  • Promotes a productive work environment.
  • Ability to adapt

Responsibilities

  • Day to day production management for the laboratory.
  • Day to day management of staff.
  • Optimize production efficiency.
  • Ensure that long term HR strategies are adhered to and that compliance is maintained.
  • Ensure the laboratory is suitably equipped, staffed and using approved methodologies to provide a quality service to clients.
  • Delegate NATA signatories to check and approve final reports prior to dispatch, advising staff to take corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure staff members are appropriately trained.
  • Continually assess the laboratory to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Authorize of the purchase of consumables.
  • Other duties as assigned.
