About The Position

Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) invites applications for the position of Laboratory Intern. This role offers university students the chance to gain knowledge in supporting the Lab functions of the District’s Environmental Services department. The position involves career development with exposure to updating documentation for The Nelac Institute (TNI) Standards, including digital document control, and upkeep of chemical inventory for the laboratory information management system (LIMS). The internship will also include hands-on training in basic microbiological and wet chemistry analyses routinely performed by entry-level laboratory positions. Assignments are intended to help the District meet its business objectives and provide the Intern with exposure to governmental projects, programs, and processes.

Requirements

  • Must be a junior level or above undergraduate student, or a graduate student.
  • Graduation from university within one year or less is also acceptable.
  • Available to work an average of 20 hours per week.
  • Must provide a copy of a transcript that includes college level, or proof of graduation within the last year.
  • Science background preferred.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and typing skills.
