Lilly is investing $4.5 billion to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. This facility, the first of its kind, combines research and manufacturing to optimize processes, increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, and reduce costs and environmental impact. During the Project Delivery and Startup Phases (2025-2028), roles will be dynamic to support project delivery, organizational build-up, and system/process implementation for GMP operations. This requires collaboration, creativity, and resilience. The Laboratory Informatics Scientist is a technical-track position focused on environmental monitoring and MODA platform support. The role is crucial in building and supporting the digital ecosystem for the Lilly Medicine Foundry laboratories, with a primary focus on deploying and sustaining the MODA environmental monitoring platform. Responsibilities include implementing, configuring, and maintaining laboratory informatics platforms such as MODA, LIMS, ELN/LES, and Empower. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in environmental monitoring workflows, sampling plans, and microbiological data management, who excel at the intersection of science, technology, and quality. Collaboration with global and local IT teams, laboratory scientists, microbiology teams, and quality partners is essential to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and efficient lab workflows. As systems mature, the role will evolve to become the site MODA subject matter expert, leading continuous improvement, mentoring users, supporting audits, and executing long-term digital strategy.
