About The Position

Laboratory Associate II - Cytopathology CC000384 Supports procedural and therapeutic services. Responsible for specimen intake and processing to ensure consistent workflow, resolves specimen issues. Assists with bedside collection of fine needle aspiration biopsy specimens (FNA) Prepares glass slides from cytologic specimens for subsequent microscopic evaluation using a variety of techniques (direct smear, thinlayer, cytospin, cell block). Performs multiple staining techniques. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. Confirms patient data at the time of specimen receiving and inputs data into LIS. Additional Job Description Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological sciences including 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of any combination of chemical or biological sciences.
