We are seeking a Laboratory Associate I to join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, California. Job Summary: Perform routine laboratory testing procedures to generate accurate and reliable data in support of clinical trials research, while adhering to SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some CAP/CLIA laboratories may require a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory principles, equipment, and instrumentation
  • Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and applicable regulatory standards
  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures while maintaining accurate and complete documentation
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to work within laboratory information systems
  • Effective communication and collaboration with cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Understanding of laboratory safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical handling practices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints).
  • Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
  • Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine analysis of specimens and accurately document results in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines
  • Evaluate analytical results against laboratory system algorithms to ensure data validity
  • Identify, document, and escalate potential errors or unusual results to senior laboratory personnel
  • Prepare buffers and solutions required for laboratory analyses
  • Support post‑analysis sample and reagent storage in compliance with procedures
  • Assist with laboratory housekeeping activities in alignment with 6S standards
  • Notify appropriate staff of supply shortages and support inventory awareness
