Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree; some CAP/CLIA locations may require a BS in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
- 6 months of basic laboratory experience, including routine testing and documentation
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints).
- Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
- Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, hazardous chemical handling, and standard precautions.
- Understanding of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, terminology, and basic analytical principles.
- Strong attention to detail, workflow organization, documentation accuracy, and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine specimen analyses and document results in compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate analytical results and verify validity using laboratory computer system algorithms.
- Identify, document, and escalate unusual or questionable results to senior laboratory personnel.
- Prepare buffers, reagents, and solutions needed for testing.
- Conduct post‑analysis storage of samples and reagents.
- Assist in drafting and improving laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment aligned with 6S standards.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with cross‑functional stakeholders regarding workflow and supply needs.
