About The Position

The Laboratory Assistant will perform routine activities to support the efficient functioning of the Quality Control laboratory. This role is crucial for maintaining laboratory supply inventory, managing reference standards, preparing documentation and chemicals for shipment, and ensuring compliance with GMP documentation and safety requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
0 to 3 years of experience in a GMP laboratory setting.
Strong communication skills.
Strong computer skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in a scientific field preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains laboratory supply inventory to ensure no laboratory downtime.
Properly labels chemicals and reagents.
Manages the reference standards system.
Responsible for all ordering for the Quality Control department and subsequent receipt.
Prepares documentation and chemicals for shipment to third-party laboratories and customers.
Samples raw materials and packaging components upon receipt.
Organizes and stores samples in accordance with all safety and compliance requirements.
Organizes QC LAB documents, including qualification, calibration, and validation documents.
Cleans and maintains laboratory workstations, equipment, and retain room.
Manages retain samples.
Maintains GMP documentation of all applicable activities.
Performs calibration of instruments when necessary.
Performs gas cylinder change-outs.
Follows SOPs and maintains good documentation during work, including data management and maintenance.
Ensures compliance for audits.
Writes data summary reports.
Works in a strict GMP environment.
Supports LAB with continuous improvement projects.
