About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Laboratory Assistant to support senior laboratory staff with processing samples, performing tests, and recording and analyzing results. This position will operate laboratory equipment, follow established test plans, document findings, and assist with the construction or adaptation of basic test setups.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of laboratory information systems and laboratory equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and instructions.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately enter and retrieve information.
  • Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to follow established procedures and directions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with laboratory staff, engineers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Process laboratory samples and perform tests under the direction of senior laboratory staff.
  • Build or adapt basic setups and test equipment for laboratory testing.
  • Perform tests using general laboratory equipment and designated tools.
  • Follow defined test plans, data sheets, and operational instructions.
  • Examine test samples and evaluate test performance and sample operation.
  • Read measuring instruments and accurately record observed or calculated data.
  • Interpret and explain test results.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, reports, and other documentation to communicate results.
  • Review test data and findings with supervisors, engineers, and laboratory technicians.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions.
  • Learn to operate basic tests for individual customer samples.
  • Communicate with customers during test setup and operation to support proper evaluation.
  • Perform routine care of designated laboratory equipment and work areas.
  • Use computer systems and available software to retrieve and enter information.
  • Develop a working knowledge of laboratory methods, instrumentation, systems, and procedures.
  • Incorporate continuous improvement concepts and techniques into daily work.
  • Follow all organizational conduct requirements and physical and digital security practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
