The Laboratory Assistant plays a key role within our team by assisting and aiding the technical staff with the handling and storing of and accounting for biological lab specimens, quality control and any other relevant tasks.

Requirements

• 1 + year of related experience in a clinical laboratory
• Experience using Microsoft Office along with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle large workload demands and troubleshoot issues when needed
• Time management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to keep accurate, legible records and adhere to GCP/GLP/GDP

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree Preferred, But will also consider associate’s degree and HS Diploma

Responsibilities

• Monitoring samples/Troubleshooting discrepancies
• Consolidating created samples/containers (i.e. slides, blocks, reports, etc)
• Searching and retrieving documents and samples
• Performing data entry/Monitoring e-mails and various correspondences
• Checking that slides/blocks are properly barcoded and labeled
• Assisting the pathologists with the technical/clerical work.
