About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory operations, testing activities, and sample processing in a scientific testing environment. This role works closely with senior laboratory staff and engineers to perform testing, document results, maintain laboratory equipment, and assist with the preparation of reports and data analysis. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related technical field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately record and analyze test data.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn laboratory software systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of fabrics, textiles, or related materials.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Experience working with laboratory instrumentation and testing equipment.
  • Exposure to scientific testing, quality assurance, or laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior laboratory staff with sample preparation, testing, and documentation.
  • Process laboratory samples and record test results accurately.
  • Build, modify, and maintain basic test setups and laboratory equipment.
  • Perform testing using standard laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain designated testing equipment and laboratory work areas.
  • Input, extract, and manage information using laboratory software and computer systems.
  • Follow established test plans, procedures, and datasheets.
  • Evaluate sample performance and testing outcomes.
  • Record, interpret, and communicate test results.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and reports summarizing laboratory findings.
  • Review test data and observations with supervisors and engineering staff.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operating instructions.
  • Examine customer samples and learn appropriate testing methods for each application.
  • Communicate with customers during testing activities to ensure proper evaluation requirements are met.
  • Document observed and calculated data on appropriate forms and systems.
  • Develop working knowledge of laboratory methods, instrumentation, and testing systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within laboratory operations.
  • Follow all safety, security, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Adhere to all applicable codes of conduct and physical and digital security practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
