About The Position

This role involves demonstrating and promoting the company vision, ensuring regular attendance and punctuality. The Laboratory Assistant will read, understand, and follow management system requirements, including the Quality Manual, SOPs, and Local Work Instructions, to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC and relevant government regulatory requirements. The position requires adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities include having full knowledge of the media department, including media preparation, setting up quality controls, instrumentation use (Autoclave, Masterclave, etc.), sanitation/dishes, and media inventory management. The role also involves identifying process difficulties, reporting them with proposed solutions to a supervisor, and maintaining a perpetual state of readiness to respond to client, staff, and co-worker needs. Maintaining cooperative working relationships, communicating orally and in writing with co-workers (intra and inter-departmental), and promoting the company image through sound and ethical business practices are essential. The position requires a continuous effort to improve work quality through existing and new technologies, identifying non-conformances and out-of-specifications, and conducting all activities in a safe and efficient manner. Other duties as assigned will also be performed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with 0-3 years experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
  • Reads, understands, and follows management system requirements as relevant to responsibilities, including but not limited to requirements found in the Quality Manual SOPs, Local Work Instructions and Methods which in turn ensures compliance with ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC requirements and relevant government regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to assigned analytical work; maintain and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Full knowledge of media department including, but not limited to: Media preparation, Setting up quality controls, Instrumentation use (Autoclave, Masterclave, etc.), Sanitation/dishes, Media inventory management.
  • Identify process difficulties and report these together with proposed solutions to supervisor.
  • Maintain a perpetual state of readiness and willingness to respond to the queries and needs of clients, staff, and co-workers.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees.
