Requirements

Bachelors Degree with biology/chemistry background required.
One year experience in laboratory, and techniques in educational, industrial labs, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or training required.
Proficient in written and spoken English required.

Nice To Haves

Masters Degree with biology/chemistry background preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare materials, supplies and equipment for all Biology, Zoology, Microbiology, Botany, Anatomy and Physiology laboratories.
Propose Biology budget capital, supplies, and maintenance for approval.
Purchase materials as approved for classes.
Maintain security and complete inventory on all material and equipment.
Repair or have serviced non-functioning equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of 10 labs and 3 prep rooms.
Prepare media and maintain cultures of bacteria for Microbiology classes.
Clean and sterilize used materials.
Properly dispose of biohazard waste.
Prepare materials and equipment required for daily laboratory experiments.
Maintain the cadaver lab and cadavers.
Maintain live plants, fish and protists.
Knowledge of hazardous chemical and working conditions as required by federal government.
Prepare lab room usage charts.
Assist students during open microbiology lab time.
Other related duties as assigned.
