About The Position

The Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Phoenix (PHX) laboratories. This role requires the ability to work in a high throughput production environment and assist laboratory personnel in patient sample processing and all other support functions. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Proficient computer skills to include internet navigation and email usage.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Associates Degree in a scientific field.
  • 1+ years of pertinent laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the general upkeep of the laboratory, including maintaining sufficient inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean glassware, racks, and other laboratory supplies.
  • Perform laboratory decontamination using appropriate materials.
  • Store and discard items, including samples and plates, appropriately according to laboratory protocols.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Restock laboratory supplies and distribute them to work areas.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Apply effective oral and written communication.
  • Work within a team and independently.
  • Function in a fast-paced environment.
