About The Position

The Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Phoenix (PHX) laboratories. This role requires the ability to work in a high throughput production environment and assist laboratory personnel in patient sample processing and other support functions. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Proficient computer skills to include internet navigation and email usage.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in a scientific field.
  • 1+ years of pertinent laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the general upkeep of the laboratory, including maintaining sufficient inventory of material, supplies, and equipment and cleaning glassware, racks, and other laboratory supplies.
  • Perform laboratory decontamination using appropriate materials.
  • Store and discard items, including samples and plates, appropriately according to laboratory protocols.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Restock laboratory and distribute supplies to work areas.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Apply effective oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work seated for approximately 20% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work standing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to use various chemicals to perform duties.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and instruments with moving parts, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.
  • Ability to use various types of laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, vortexes, refrigerators, freezers, water baths, and heat blocks.

Benefits

  • The base pay for this position is $17.00 – $34.00/hour
