About The Position
Under the general supervision of the laboratory supervisor, the Lab Assistant II processes and handles specimens for testing in multiple Clinical and Anatomic areas of the laboratory. You may be required to obtain blood specimens on patients of all ages by venipuncture and micro-collection techniques for laboratory analysis. The work you do here makes a tremendous impact!
Requirements
- 2+ years laboratory experience required.
- Maintains certification in the Packaging and Shipping of Hazardous Goods.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Moderate knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal, written, computer and clerical skills.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in 2 different areas of the lab strongly preferred.
- 1 year experience with infant collections
- Certification as a medical assistant or related field preferred.
- If MA, certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Processes and handles specimens for testing in multiple Clinical and Anatomic areas of the laboratory.
- Obtains blood specimens on patients of all ages by venipuncture and micro-collection techniques for laboratory analysis.
