About The Position

This position involves learning and performing essential tasks related to laboratory animal care, including equipment operation, basic husbandry, facility sanitation, and record-keeping. The role requires adherence to health and safety protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies, and applicable regulations. There is an opportunity to work with potentially hazardous substances and to develop skills in workload planning and recognizing deviations from normal conditions. Requirements

A high school degree or equivalent, or a minimum of 1 year related experience without a high school degree.
Adherence to laboratory health and safety.
Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Adherence to applicable company policies and guidelines.
Adherence to federal and/or local regulations as applicable.
Demonstrated immunological tolerance to animals.
Passing pulmonary function test.
Annual physical.
Use of other PPE (personal protective equipment).
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Operate cagewash equipment and perform cagewash operations.
Perform basic husbandry functions for relevant animal species, including basic animal handling and restraint.
Maintain general facility sanitation conditions.
Review protocols and maintain lab records and documentation in accordance with SOPs and GLPs.
Document husbandry activities by hand and in appropriate data collection systems.
Work effectively as a team member.
Work with potentially hazardous substances, including teratogens, carcinogens, and/or radio-labeled test materials.
Plan assigned workload on a daily basis.
Recognize deviations from normal situations or results and inform supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
