About The Position

The Laboratory Analyst will be responsible for analyzing samples using manual and more complex instrumental techniques in accordance with prescribed methods and standard operating procedures. This role involves performing all duties associated with sample analysis of more complex laboratory tests, analyzing, interpreting, and reviewing sample results, and performing peer review of other data. The Analyst will also be responsible for fulfilling all quality control requirements associated with the methods, maintaining appropriate records, and performing all work within established quality control parameters and specified turnaround times. Additionally, the role includes recording bench-level observations, keeping records in bound and electronic notebooks, troubleshooting and fixing instrument malfunctions, and maintaining safe working conditions and a clean, orderly work area at all times. The Analyst must exercise laboratory safety practices and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related science is preferred.
  • ICPMS/ICP-AES/ICP-OES experience strongly preferred
  • 1-5 years of analytical laboratory experience preferred
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to initiate corrective action without prompting and assist co-workers whenever necessary in order to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to effectively perform duties under pressures arising from large sample volumes and short turn-around times.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use (or learn to use) Laboratory Information Management System.
  • Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties associated with sample analysis of more complex laboratory tests.
