This position serves as a central coordinator in a multi-department environment. Incumbents ensure more timely responses to client problems/questions. The Laboratory Administrator ensures all callers receive an appropriate response from his/her assigned lab areas by utilizing the company values, vision, and mission and using a helpful and mature telephone presence. This role involves data entry, reagent storage, signing for reagents, and maintaining associated paperwork. It also includes problem-solving activities such as handling small size samples, accessioning, or thawed samples, and gathering data to address specific problems. The position is responsible for pulling samples for studies and acting as a problem solver for test adds from lab services. Additionally, the role involves performing a monthly tally of laboratory assays, reviewing contents with the Director or Department Head, and forwarding the report to Medical Administration. The Laboratory Administrator is responsible for keeping laboratory libraries up-to-date, preparing photocopies of pertinent data or articles, and performing incoming and out-going clerical purchasing activities for assigned departments. Report retrieval and generation activities are also part of the role, which may include photocopying and binding documents for management. The position may also organize and file TRFs for the assigned laboratory and answer phones for one or more departments. Other duties as assigned.
