About The Position

The Labor Relations Specialist independently supports and administers the organization’s labor relations programs, serving as a key resource to management, employees, and labor representatives. This role applies working knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and employee relations best practices to manage day-to-day labor relations activities and more complex issues. Specific duties include: Contributes to arbitration preparation, investigations, and dispute resolution while supporting constructive labor–management relationships across union and non-union facilities. Participates in collective bargaining processes, interprets and applies contract provisions, monitors compliance, and manages grievance and disciplinary matters through resolution. Leverages working knowledge of employment legislation, labor agreements, and best practices in labor relations.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of related experience in labor relations or human resources or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining principles
  • Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge in project management, analysis or investigations skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to establish constructive working relationships internally
  • Ability to establish constructive working relationships with union leaders

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree will count as one year of experience towards the experience requirement.
  • Pro. in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Pro. in Human Resources (SPHR)
