About The Position

The Labor Relations Business Partner is responsible for assisting in the day to day management of the Union contracts throughout Encore, sitting in on all first step grievance hearings, collecting information for all Requests for Information, and function as the note taker in negotiations as needed. This position will assist in scheduling, tracking, and responding to union grievances, negotiation proposals, and internal tracking mechanisms. This position will report to the Senior Director of Labor Relations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience of demonstrated collective bargaining support.
  • The candidate has demonstrated knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act and experience in collective bargaining.
  • General understanding of the National Labor Relations Act and any relevant state laws.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, concise, organized, persuasive manner.
  • Ability to work independently but also perform as a strong team player.
  • Superior interpersonal skills. Able to collaborate with diverse personalities. Tactful and flexible.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate business needs, being situationally pro-active.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment, exhibiting agility and sense of urgency, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to be flexible to meet fluctuating business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support in collective bargaining as needed including note taking, scheduling, tracking, and assisting in preparing proposals.
  • Oversee the daily administration of collective bargaining agreements at assigned locations and work with HR and others on the Leadership Team.
  • Actively support local HR, managers, and supervisors in the investigation of grievances, including responding to RFI's, with a focus on proactively resolving them internally.
  • Educate and guide local HR, managers and supervisors through the grievance process.
  • Assist in the ongoing union contract training and with the assistance of the Labor & Employment legal team. Aide in delivering general labor relations training for local HR, managers, and supervisors.
  • Participate in union election campaigns and prevention training and as needed and actively support such activities.
