About The Position

SSP America is seeking a detail-driven Labor Relations and New Openings Coordinator to keep collective bargaining work organized and new openings running smoothly. This role involves tracking commitments, connecting teams, and ensuring smooth transitions for team members and operations. The coordinator will maintain accurate CBA records, support bargaining and grievance work, coordinate new openings, remodels, and transitions, and partner across various departments to remove barriers and keep projects moving. The ideal candidate will bring order to complex work through strong organization, sound judgment, and dependable follow-through.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of human resources operations experience required.
  • Basic understanding and application of U.S. labor and employment laws required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in human resources, labor relations, business administration, legal studies, or a related field preferred.
  • Paralegal certification or related legal support education preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certification preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality, food service, food and beverage, airport operations, or a related industry preferred.
  • Experience maintaining CBA trackers, agreement summaries, implementation calendars, bargaining materials, or similar labor relations documentation tools preferred.
  • Experience supporting labor relations, collective bargaining agreement administration, grievance tracking, bargaining preparation, employment law compliance, or related legal functions preferred.
  • Experience supporting new unit openings, workforce transitions, acquisitions, remodels, or other operational changes preferred.
  • Knowledge of Canadian labor and employment practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a complete, current inventory of all collective bargaining agreements, including amendments, side letters, wage schedules, benefit provisions, and key dates.
  • Track negotiated CBA changes, implementation dates, notice requirements, wage increases, and other agreement-specific obligations.
  • Build and maintain CBA trackers that identify required actions, responsible teams, due dates, and follow-up needed.
  • Escalate gaps, missed deadlines, or unclear ownership to the right Labor Relations, People, Legal, or business leader.
  • Prepare bargaining support materials such as CBA summaries, issue logs, comparison documents, and proposal trackers.
  • Support new unit openings, remodels, transitions, and acquisitions with organized, timely coordination.
  • Maintain opening and transition trackers that capture activities, owners, timelines, status, and open items.
  • Participate in project calls, opening readiness meetings, and post-opening follow-up to keep people-related work on track.
  • Organize labor relations documentation to stay accurate, accessible, and compliant with Company confidentiality standards.
