About The Position

A well-established, full-service law firm is seeking a California-licensed employment attorney with 3 to 8 years of experience to join its busy and expanding Labor & Employment (L&E) practice. The L&E group supports and collaborates with the firm's broader transactional and litigation practices and serves a diverse client base across various industries, both within California and nationwide. The team handles a wide range of employment matters — from day-to-day counseling and early dispute resolution to complex litigation, including single-plaintiff and representative actions. The firm often serves as outside general counsel and trusted advisor to its long-standing business clients.

Requirements

  • California-licensed employment attorney
  • 3 to 8 years of experience
  • Proven experience with California employment law
  • Familiarity with the full spectrum of employment claims (harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues)
  • Experience in both state and federal court settings
  • Solid experience drafting and responding to pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions (including motions to dismiss and for summary judgment), mediation briefs, and trial documents
  • Preparedness for and experience with depositions
  • Strong academic credentials

Responsibilities

  • Handling pre-litigation matters
  • Handling individual employment disputes
  • Handling class and PAGA actions
  • Drafting and responding to pleadings

  • Drafting and responding to mediation briefs
  • Drafting and responding to trial documents
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Providing day-to-day counseling to clients
  • Engaging in early dispute resolution
  • Handling complex litigation
  • Serving as outside general counsel and trusted advisor to business clients
