Labor & Employment Attorney
About The Position
A well-established, full-service law firm is seeking a California-licensed employment attorney with 3 to 8 years of experience to join its busy and expanding Labor & Employment (L&E) practice. The L&E group supports and collaborates with the firm's broader transactional and litigation practices and serves a diverse client base across various industries, both within California and nationwide. The team handles a wide range of employment matters — from day-to-day counseling and early dispute resolution to complex litigation, including single-plaintiff and representative actions. The firm often serves as outside general counsel and trusted advisor to its long-standing business clients.
Requirements
- California-licensed employment attorney
- 3 to 8 years of experience
- Proven experience with California employment law
- Familiarity with the full spectrum of employment claims (harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues)
- Experience in both state and federal court settings
- Solid experience drafting and responding to pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions (including motions to dismiss and for summary judgment), mediation briefs, and trial documents
- Preparedness for and experience with depositions
- Strong academic credentials

Responsibilities
- Handling pre-litigation matters
- Handling individual employment disputes
- Handling class and PAGA actions
- Drafting and responding to pleadings
- Drafting and responding to discovery
- Drafting and responding to dispositive motions (including motions to dismiss and for summary judgment)
- Drafting and responding to mediation briefs
- Drafting and responding to trial documents
- Taking and defending depositions
- Providing day-to-day counseling to clients
- Engaging in early dispute resolution
- Handling complex litigation
- Serving as outside general counsel and trusted advisor to business clients
