About The Position

The Labor & Delivery Scrub Tech (Surgical Technologist) supports mothers, babies, and the healthcare team during surgical procedures at Trinity Health Oakland. The unit has 12 Labor-Delivery-Recovery rooms, high-risk and antepartum suites, dedicated C-section rooms, and a collaborative team of RNs, Surgical Technologists, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Clerks. This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology, or two years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• No experience is required with an Associate degree; otherwise, two years of Surgical Technologist experience is required.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields for Labor & Delivery procedures.
• Set up instruments, supplies, drapes, and equipment according to surgeon preferences.
• Assist surgeons during C-sections and other procedures by passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs.
• Support the RN with circulating duties, patient positioning, and obtaining supplies and equipment.
• Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts to ensure patient safety.
