About The Position

Cozen O'Connor's Pittsburgh office is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment paralegal. Candidate must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be a skilled communicator and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and computer/technical skills required. Ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is willing to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. Some out of town travel may be required. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of labor & employment experience which will include a litigation/trial background.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate required
  • 5+ years of labor and employment experience with a litigation/trial background
  • Candidate must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Relativity, LiveNote, Case/Time Map, Summation, Adobe Acrobat, and Trial Director preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Document management—including but not limited to, review of documents for responsiveness, bates labeling, organization of documents and compiling information for discovery responses/pleadings/motions, depositions and trial preparation
  • Draft discovery requests and responses
  • Witness interviews
  • Draft Rule 26 disclosures
  • Create damage models for wage/hour cases
  • Electronic filing in state and federal courts
  • Facilitate document production (hard copy and electronic formats)
  • Management of litigation databases and support of electronic discovery processes
  • Review documents for privilege and compile privilege logs
  • Prepare, serve and follow up on subpoenas
  • Assist at trial, including tracking exhibits and coordination of courtroom equipment to present electronic evidence and exhibits
  • Strong working knowledge of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information (state and federal court).
