Labeler
About The Position
The Labeler applies information to packaging to meet country or customer requirements. Information may be applied using printed adhesive labels, an inkjet machine, or hand stamping, and may include translated food ingredients, GMO status, whether a non-food item can be used with food, production and expiration dates, item numbers, and importer addresses. The role involves preparing and labeling products and cases, checking label dates against manufacturer dates, verifying other label information as time allows, repacking and re-palletizing products, moving cases to workstations, and cleaning the work area. The position requires lifting and working in both ambient and freezer temperatures.
Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. often and up to 80 lbs. occasionally.
- Able to work in both ambient and freezer temperatures.
- Read and speak English.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of manufacturing or food industry experience preferred.
- Spanish and Arabic literacy are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
- When applicable, carefully open cases using company-approved and issued blades, remove inner packaging, orient products for correct label placement, and apply labels supplied by the Senior Labeler.
- Ensure production and expiration dates on labels match the manufacturer’s dates.
- Verify other label information as time allows.
- Repack inner packages into cases and reclose cases.
- Apply labels supplied by the Senior Labeler to outer cases and re-palletize the cases.
- Un-palletize products and manually move cases to workstations.
- Clean the work area.
