About The Position

Avery Dennison is hiring a Label Machine Operator to operate label manufacturing equipment and ensure production runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently to meet customer demand. The role is on second shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The hourly rate is $17.79–$23.72. The operator sets up, calibrates, and runs label machines according to daily job schedules and standard operating procedures, handles dies carefully, monitors equipment and product quality, and troubleshoots malfunctions with supervisors. The role also involves recording raw materials in the ERP system using FIFO methods, keeping the workstation clean and safe, following plant safety rules and PPE requirements, and assisting with distribution and colleagues across shifts as needed.

Requirements

1–2 years of experience in machine operation, manufacturing, or mechanical equipment setup.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a drive to understand how equipment operates.
Ability to distinguish colors, read fine measurements, and perform close-range visual quality checks at 20 inches or less.
Comfort standing for most of the shift, reaching, and safely lifting up to 50 pounds.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Set up, calibrate, and operate label machines according to daily job schedules and standard operating procedures.
Handle and maintain dies carefully to support continuous line performance.
Monitor equipment accuracy and product quality, identify causes of malfunctions, and work with supervisors to resolve production issues.
Record raw materials accurately in the ERP system using FIFO methods to minimize waste and track quality control.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation and follow plant safety rules, policies, and required PPE guidelines.
Assist with distribution tasks and support team members across shifts when needed.
