About The Position

This job is only available to students who qualify for Work-Study. The ECBE department has acquired some prototyping machines to make printed circuit boards (PCBs) for lab courses, capstone projects, and competition teams. This work-study position is devoted to operating the PCB fabrication machines.

Requirements

  • Must qualify for Work-Study.
  • Taken ECE-225 (or equivalent).
  • Experience with soldering, circuit design and fabrication.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, KiCad)
  • Experience with prototyping tools (e.g., 3d printing, micromilling machine).

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students and other work-study students on using the PCB prototyping machines
  • Make PCBs for ECE capstone students, lab courses (ECE 248 and 363), competition teams (e.g. Baja), and research projects.
  • Maintain the PCB machines (e.g., replace broken bits, re-align the machine).
