About The Position

The Test Technician works in the testing lab setting up and running performance tests on Culligan water treatment products using their understanding and experience in the use of common tools, test equipment, instrumentation and test setup practices. The Test Technician performs functions that lead to the improvement or recertification of current products and the development and launch of new products and components. This role reports to the Engineering Manager but works independently or in conjunction with Test Engineers to plan and accomplish goals.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or higher in Engineering Technology or Test Engineering preferred
  • 2+ years experience carrying out test plans in a laboratory environment.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Entry-level knowledge or ability to learn basis of automation for lab software deployment
  • Basic data analysis skills.
  • Mechanically inclined and have hands-on build and test experience.
  • Ability to do basic plumbing and electrical wiring
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Assemble test units and test equipment in the testing lab.
  • Perform industry standard and lightly customized tests from sketches and schematics.
  • Perform multiple testing projects simultaneously.
  • Collect samples and measurements according to the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Manage multiple performance tests simultaneously.
  • Report accurate and timely testing results in laboratory notebooks and computer databases.
  • Prepare reports as requested based on collected data.
  • Handle and dispose of chemical solutions under supervision of Engineering Manager.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures to support current processes.
  • Follow established safety guidelines and properly maintain safety equipment.
  • Sustain, clean and keep lab organized.
  • Develop moderately complex automation deployments within the lab.
  • Propose and implement 5S organization improvements.
  • Assist Test Engineers in test project planning as needed.
  • Develop technical competency in the understanding and application of Culligan standard product technologies and Culligan products.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.
