Lab Technologist

About The Position

The Lab Technologist performs laboratory assays to support veterinary GLP studies and follows required SOPs and applicable regulations to ensure study procedures and processes are completed appropriately. The role enters study protocols, processes and transcribes data in Antech’s laboratory computer system, and sends or prints reports in various formats. The technologist also maintains and calibrates equipment, records data and quality-control results, interprets QC data to assess acceptability, and tests new procedures to qualify them for veterinary use. Additional duties include maintaining supply inventory, performing tasks associated with radioactive-material license requirements, completing GLP documentation, and supporting management as a team member in process improvement. The position reports directly to the Laboratory Director.

Responsibilities

Perform assays in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, RIA, EIA, and Electrophoresis to support veterinary GLP studies.
Review and follow required SOPs to direct procedures and processes and ensure studies are completed under applicable regulations.
Enter study protocols into the Antech computer system.
Process and transcribe data in Antech’s laboratory computer system and send or print reports in various formats.
Maintain and calibrate equipment.
Enter data and QC results into the computer system and interpret QC data to determine data acceptability.
Perform testing to qualify new tests as acceptable for veterinary use.
Maintain inventory of supplies.
Perform tasks associated with license requirements for radioactive materials.
Complete documentation required for GLP compliance.
Support management as a team member for process improvement.
