Lab Technician (Construction Materials Testing) - Will Train!
About The Position
NOVA Engineering is seeking a Construction Materials Laboratory Technician for our Raleigh, NC location. This person will perform daily work in the lab, assist project managers, help with scheduling, and perform senior technician duties for transportation-related projects. This candidate will be providing quality assurance/quality control testing for a variety transportation projects, but any commercial experience is very beneficial. Successful candidates must perform on site observations/inspections, collect samples per FDOT, ACI, and ASTM requirements, perform specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and transportation components, and maintain detail records of observations, inspections, and test results.
Requirements
- Ability to lift and/or move 35-100 pounds regularly.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years’ construction materials testing experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
- ACI Concrete Strength Testing, ACI Aggregate Testing Level I and II, NCDOT certifications are desired.
- Commercial experience is very beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and document tests on various construction materials with precision and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with experienced colleagues and work independently to ensure test results are logical, complete, and ready for review.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is well-maintained and properly calibrated.
- Perform daily work in the lab.
- Assist project managers.
