About The Position

Turner Industries is looking for a Lab Technician for work in St. Gabriel, LA. This position will conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials for research and development of new products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other STEM program or two (2) years of on the job experience or equivalent combinations of experience and training
• Previous lab and lab instrumentation experience
• May be required to have working knowledge of desktop computer software for the development and use of spreadsheets, presentations, reports, and databases
• Must possess excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, judgment and decision making, and complex problem solving skills
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, or gaseous materials
• Maintain, clean, or sterilize laboratory instruments or equipment
• Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical or chemical separation techniques, or microscopy
• Document results of tests and analyses
• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
• Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas
• Provide technical support or assistance to chemists or engineers
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
