About The Position

The Lab Technician is responsible for maintaining overall product quality by working under the guidance of the Laboratory Supervisor, QA Director, and Production Supervisors. In this role, the Laboratory Technician receives, tests, analyzes, records, and reports laboratory results for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. Through meticulous testing and documentation, this position ensures that all products meet established specifications and regulatory standards, upholding the company’s commitment to delivering safe, consistent, and high quality goods to our customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years experience in related field, or chemical/microbiological lab.
  • Attention to Detail: High precision in conducting tests and recording data to ensure accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written skills to communicate findings to management, production teams, and auditors.
  • Analytical Skills: Performs mathematical calculations related to weights, measures, and record keeping to support accurate production and documentation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with laboratory equipment microscopes, scales, chemical titrations, and basic microbiological techniques.
  • Computer Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with laboratory information management systems.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • HACCP, SQF, or PCQI certifications and licenses desired.

Responsibilities

  • Follows established process for holding, releasing, and/or rejection finished goods.
  • Performs chemical analysis of raw materials and finished products and supports quality verification procedures.
  • Performs weight checks, temperature checks, ingredient usage.
  • Verifies product distribution, finished product appearance, code date verification and PH testing results.
  • Conducts pre op inspection including visual and swabb after CIP and support sanitation validation.
  • Supports daily finished product evaluations to ensure product integrity.
  • Performs and assists in coordinating sensory evaluations for all products.
  • Performs environmental testing including swabbing, air, water, etc.
  • Conducts facility inspections in production areas when not performing product testing, ensuring all quality requirements are followed.
  • Verifies compliance and alerts management of any deviations or concerns support risk assessment and corrective actions.
  • Keep neat and accurate records and paperwork per company and government policies.
  • Participates in and support all audits, including internal, external, and contract related.
  • Follows all GMP and food safety policies consistently.
  • Completes all required training on time to support readiness and compliance.
  • Follows all safety, health, and environmental policies without exception.
  • Performs necessary preventive maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions, abnormalities, and repair needs, and follows up to ensure resolution.
  • Creates and follows up on work orders for the area as required.
  • Assists co workers by providing break and lunch relief as needed.
  • Attends and participates in daily shift meetings to support communication and alignment.
  • Supports visual management standards by maintaining an organized and compliant work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
