This position involves performing accurate and reproducible routine and complex manual and automated testing as ordered by physicians, ensuring timely results. The role requires active participation in quality control programs, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. The technician will be responsible for recognizing and reporting critical results according to protocol, proficiently operating the LIS and other computer systems, and maintaining competency with system changes. Participation in Proficiency Testing and other quality assurance programs is essential. Understanding and maintaining specimen integrity is crucial, along with reporting any compromises to testing quality. The technician may also be required to assume additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
