Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in non-chemistry discipline, Associate's degree, high school diploma or GED or related laboratory technician certification with experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
  • Formal training in general laboratory procedures.
  • General computer experience with standard software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a variety of analytical tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and overtime when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred.
  • Experience with LIMS and GC software is highly preferred but not required.
  • Experience with analytical equipment and instrumentation such as: GC, Karl Fisher, Auto-Titrators and Colorimeter preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing QA/QC support for daily site operations.
  • Performing testing and analysis for raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, customer samples.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinating other inspections and/or release of material in LIMS/SAP.
  • Verifications, PMs, calibrations.
  • Troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
  • Reagent, equipment, consumable inventory control.
  • Other functions to support laboratory operations.
  • Prepare standards.
  • Record, prepare, test and track samples throughout the lab process.
  • Perform quality assurance activities to verify the capability of equipment and methods.
  • Assemble, dismantle, troubleshoot, maintain, repair and calibrate analytical test equipment.
  • Perform test method reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Work with the lab team to complete workload and prioritize analyses to support plant operations.
  • Understand and adhere to site safety rules, policies and programs.
  • Assist in training of others on lab tech responsibilities when requested.
  • Maintain lab areas in a clean, safe and well-organized manner.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support site operations.
