About The Position

The Lab Technician works in the sample preparation department of an environmental testing laboratory, supporting scientists by preparing water and soil samples before analysis. The role follows established sample preparation procedures and involves working with solvents and chemicals, as well as maintaining documentation and databases. Training is provided, with opportunities to develop laboratory science skills and build a career in environmental science. The stated compensation is $17.00 per hour; the final offer may reflect geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, budget, and organizational guidelines. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a laboratory or office setting.
• Ability to remain standing for long periods while conducting tests.
• Ability to work around strong smells.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment while handling samples, including a lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves.

• Experience in a laboratory or environmental testing setting is preferred, but not required.
