About The Position

Turner Industries Group is seeking a Lab Technician for maintenance work in Pass Christian, Mississippi. The position conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in qualitative and quantitative analyses of solid, liquid, and gaseous materials. Work supports research and development of products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other applications of chemistry and related sciences.

The role works rotating day and night shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. A TWIC card is required, applicants must pass a background check, and the position does not include per diem.

Requirements

• Must possess a TWIC card.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must complete a post-offer drug screen and sign acceptance of the Turner Industries Group, LLC Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
• Must possess excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, judgment and decision-making, and complex problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Laboratory experience is preferred, or two college laboratory courses and one college Algebra class.
• May be required to have working knowledge of desktop computer software for developing and using spreadsheets, presentations, reports, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in qualitative or quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, or gases.
• Maintain, clean, or sterilize laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical or chemical separation, or microscopy.
• Document test and analysis results.
• Monitor product quality for compliance with standards and specifications.
• Prepare chemical solutions using standardized formulas or create experimental formulas.
• Provide technical support or assistance to chemists or engineers.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
