About The Position

The Lab Technician performs duties to support the daily operation of the dye lab. This includes maintaining greige inventories for sample dyeings, receiving and entering new color requests through the SAP system, cutting, labeling, and mailing lab samples. Duties also include entering approved dye formulas into the SAP system, preparing production folders, and submitting lab samples to the QA lab for fastness. The Lab Technician is also responsible for quality checks of incoming dyes and operates the mini-jet dye machine and other sample dyeing/finishing equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform duties to support the daily operation of the dye lab.
Maintain greige inventories for sample dyeings.
Receive and enter new color requests through the SAP system.
Cut, label, and mail lab samples.
Enter approved dye formulas into the SAP system.
Prepare production folders.
Submit lab samples to the QA lab for fastness.
Perform quality checks of incoming dyes.
Operate the mini-jet dye machine and other sample dyeing/finishing equipment.
Use spectrophotometer and software for dye checks.
Use SAP LSR system.
Use solution maker.
Operate heatset ovens, pads, mini-jet, die press, gram scales and sample stretcher.
Understand different dye classifications and test protocols for each.
Use scales to weigh small amounts of dyes/chemicals.
Communicate with customers and sales associates.
