About The Position

Ivy Tech Evansville seeks a Part-time Lab Technician to support the Life Sciences department. This is an in-person role based on the Evansville, IN campus. The position involves preparing and breaking down labs, managing supplies, maintaining safety data, and assisting with equipment and inventory. Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to think critically, communicate, and work autonomously.
• Must have a safe environment mindset.
• Must be familiar with science labs.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s Degree in Science.

Responsibilities

• Prepare labs as needed such as setting out equipment, models, and all necessary supplies.
• Prepare materials as needed for labs.
• Breakdown labs and perform necessary cleanup of materials.
• Work with science instructors to maintain levels of supplies and up-to-date inventory of supplies.
• Maintain MSDS data sheets and follow OSHA guidelines.
• Track usage of lab consumables.
• Unpack and check-in orders.
• Clean lab equipment and models.
• Assist lab manager or program chair with ordering.
• Make copies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
