Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Per Diem/PRN Clinical Lab Technician to join our Monogram lab in South San Francisco!
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Nice To Haves
- 1 year or more years of lab experience
- 1 year or more experience with molecular biology techniques
- 1 year or more experience working in a clinical diagnostics laboratory
- Understanding and familiarity with aseptic techniques and good specimen handling
- Experience with SOPs, QA and QC standards
- Strong computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to work in collaborative, flexible work environment
- Able to work flexible hours, during training
Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory duties within the Molecular Front End / PreAnalytical areas including: Specimen receiving and data entry in LIS
- Operation of instrumentation
- Recording of equipment daily readings, function checks and preventative maintenance
- Completion of QA Documents
- Responsible for sample preparation steps including Aliquoting, Beading, Lysing as well as Molecular Extraction techniques
- Perform inventory control
- Practice aseptic / sterile techniques
- May participate in creating Standard Operating Procedures
- Comply with all safety/infection control policies and procedures
- Communicate with outside departments including Molecular Lab, Research and Development, Client Services and Pharma Project Managers
