Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Per Diem/PRN Clinical Lab Technician to join our Monogram lab in South San Francisco!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or more years of lab experience
  • 1 year or more experience with molecular biology techniques
  • 1 year or more experience working in a clinical diagnostics laboratory
  • Understanding and familiarity with aseptic techniques and good specimen handling
  • Experience with SOPs, QA and QC standards
  • Strong computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in collaborative, flexible work environment
  • Able to work flexible hours, during training

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory duties within the Molecular Front End / PreAnalytical areas including: Specimen receiving and data entry in LIS
  • Operation of instrumentation
  • Recording of equipment daily readings, function checks and preventative maintenance
  • Completion of QA Documents
  • Responsible for sample preparation steps including Aliquoting, Beading, Lysing as well as Molecular Extraction techniques
  • Perform inventory control
  • Practice aseptic / sterile techniques
  • May participate in creating Standard Operating Procedures
  • Comply with all safety/infection control policies and procedures
  • Communicate with outside departments including Molecular Lab, Research and Development, Client Services and Pharma Project Managers
