About The Position

Genesis Products is seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician / Quality Assurance Specialist for our Mocksville, NC manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the consistent quality and performance of our products through accurate testing, documentation, and communication with production teams. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing quality or laboratory environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to read and interpret test data and communicate results effectively.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, raw materials, and quality assurance testing protocols.
  • Proficiency in data entry and recordkeeping (MS Office experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with production teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required), technical training or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining a testing equipment calibration program.
  • Assisting in developing and writing Production SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and QCIPs (Quality Control Inspection Procedures).
  • Performing daily lab testing on treated films and pressed panels.
  • Conducting periodic quality assurance testing during startups and product changeovers.
  • Providing corrective action parameter changes to production based on lab and quality results.
  • Maintaining the raw paper master outturn library.
  • Preparing samples and accurately recording all test data.
  • Ensuring proper laboratory cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conducting incoming inspections on raw materials including board, resins, additives, and paper.
  • Assisting with customer claim investigations using root cause analysis (“5 Why” method).
  • Organizing and performing production trials involving alternative materials, additives, or process parameter changes.
