About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Lab Technician who operates with moderate independence within defined procedures and contributes to maintaining product quality, laboratory organization, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Lab Technician supports laboratory production and operations activities for CS Genetics’ single-cell genomics product line. This role is responsible for executing laboratory procedures including cell culture maintenance, reagent preparation, assay execution, filling, labeling, kitting and material handling while ensuring adherence to quality standards and documented procedures. The individual will support routine cell culture operations, including cell thawing, passaging, freezing, and preparation of cells for downstream workflows used in product development and manufacturing support activities. The role will also assist with pilot builds and technology transfer activities by executing laboratory tasks and documenting results.

Requirements

  • BS in Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related scientific discipline
  • 0-2 years of hands-on laboratory experience, mammalian tissue culture preferred
  • Experience performing sterile techniques in biosafety cabinets
  • Experience using standard laboratory equipment including pipettes, centrifuges, vortex mixers, incubators, biosafety cabinets and physical properties measurement equipment (pH meter, viscometer, conductivity meter, refractometer)
  • Familiarity with good laboratory practices (GLP) and laboratory safety procedures
  • Experience maintaining laboratory documentation such as SOPs, batch records, or experimental records
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed experimental protocols
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative laboratory environment
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with quality or continuous improvement practices such as Lean, Six Sigma, or 6S is beneficial
  • Familiarity with laboratory systems such as LIMS, MES, ERP, or inventory systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cell culture techniques, including cell thawing, passaging, counting, and cryopreservation.
  • Prepare and maintain cell culture media, buffers, and reagents required for experimental and production workflows.
  • Monitor cell health, morphology, and growth characteristics and document observations appropriately.
  • Maintain sterile technique while working in biosafety cabinets and cell culture laboratories.
  • Execute laboratory production and Quality Check processes including reagent preparation, assay setup, filling, labeling, and kitting following established protocols.
  • Support laboratory workflows related to single-cell genomics sample preparation and related processes.
  • Record experimental and production data accurately using laboratory notebooks or electronic systems.
  • Assist with pilot builds and development runs by performing assigned laboratory tasks and documenting outcomes.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment including incubators, centrifuges, pipettes, biosafety cabinets, and related instrumentation.
  • Ensure laboratory activities comply with GLP, safety requirements, and internal quality procedures.
  • Assist with investigation of laboratory deviations or process issues by collecting data and documenting observations.
  • Maintain organized laboratory workspaces and support inventory tracking of reagents, consumables, and cell culture materials.
  • Collaborate with Product and Process Development teams to support laboratory operations and development activities.
  • Communicate execution progress, operational issues, and observations to supervisors and team members.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts that enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, and reproducibility.
  • Work under guidance of site lead to prepare for and execute lab move.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
