Main Campus is looking to add a Lab Technician II to its team of dedicated caregivers. In this role, you will receive and accession laboratory specimens, perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems, and complete general laboratory and quality assurance procedures. A caregiver in this role works evenings from 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and one year of lab experience OR Associate’s Degree

• Associate's Degree (preferably in Science)

Responsibilities

• Receive and accession laboratory specimens into the LIS.
• Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens.
• Accept or reject specimens according to established standards.
• Perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.
• Verify accurate documentation relative to specimen processing.
• Maintain patient, specimen and tracking data using the laboratory computer system, tracking software/devices.
• Prepare specimens for analysis.
• Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance).
• Perform preventive maintenance, record keeping procedures, basic clerical functions and the placing of work orders.
