Requirements

  • Prepare broth media, according to recipes, for product sterility testing in the cleanroom.
  • Enter data into media batch records and sterilizer records.
  • Operate laboratory equipment: positive displacement pump, steam sterilizers, balance, pH meter, steam kettle.
  • Don a sterile, full body gown to unload sterilized media into the clean room.
  • Formulate and label media batches according to recipes and procedure.
  • Document the preparation of each batch of medium on the appropriate media batch record.
  • Complete and document post-sterilization tests according to procedure.
  • Perform second person verifications as required.
  • Prepare reagents needed in media formulations.
  • Gowning qualified to enter the cleanroom and unload sterilizers.
  • Operate sterilizers according to procedure.
  • Complete a sterilizer log for each cycle.
  • Load bottles according to the patterns listed in the validations.
  • Verify that cycles meet their specified parameters.
  • Follow procedures for completing required daily standardization on equipment.
  • Perform beginning and end steam kettle cleaning according to procedure and complete the associated cleaning log.
  • Document the between batch steam kettle cleaning according to procedure.
  • Complete the daily and weekly media prep 5S checklists.
  • Follow good housekeeping practices in all areas.
  • Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc).
  • Know and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Complete required training on time.
  • Aseptically dispense agar into sterile petri plates according to procedure.
  • Ensure all filled petri plates are labeled according to procedure.
  • Ensure proper separation between agar batches to avoid mix-ups.
  • Separate the required QC plates from each batch.
  • Place poured plates into quarantine after solidification.
  • Perform and document plate pouring room sanitization.
  • Archive
  • Identify areas for improvement within the Media Department.
  • Identify areas for improvement for Nelson Labs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
